RULES OF DEBATE CONTEST



Participants : Senior High School and University students

  • Each institution may send max 2 teams, each team consists of 2 people.

  • Each participant may only participate in one competition, except Photo Contest

Slot         : 32 teams for Senior High School

          32 teams for University

Outfit : Neat and polite school uniforms/university alma mater.


There are three points of this page, they are:

  1. The Rounds,

  2. The participants, and

  3. The adjudicator.


SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

  1. The Rounds

The competition will be held in 8 rooms. There are four phases of the rounds.


  1. 4 (four) Preliminary Rounds

The first round of preliminary will be arranged by adj-core (adjudicators’ core). The next round drawing will be based on power pairing. Power pairing is a combination of two ranks in the room.

  The scheme will be as follow:

16 schools with highest victory points will proceed to octo-final.


  1. Octo-final

In octo-final, it will be knock-out round. Two teams from each room will continue to the Semi-final.


  1. Semi-final

In semi-final, it will be knock-out round. Two teams from each room will continue to the final round.


  1. Final round.

In final round, there will be only champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up. There will be a best speaker. Judges’ decision is absolute.


  1. The Participants

The contest will be team versus team, not school versus school.


  1. The Adjudicators 

  1. Every school must send one or more adjudicators (obligatory).

  2. The Adjudication participant must be the students from the school and may send more than 1 participants.

  3. All Adjudication participants must follow Workshop on Adjudication in the technical meeting.

  1. The Adjudicators 

  1. Every university/institution/faculty/invitation must send one or more adjudicators (obligatory).

  2. The Adjudication participant maybe the student and may send more than 1 participants.

  3. All Adjudication participants must follow Workshop on Adjudication in the technical meeting. 


NB : 1. Composite is allowed.
